What is Hotameter?

Hotameter (Hot a meter) is a fun application that shows your hotness score and hotness rank in the world. It also lets you rate your hot friends. You can send fun "gifts / messages" to your friends, and if you are a VIP, to other hotties too. You can also check out random hotties, or search for hotties from your location, language, etc.

We will keep adding new features that allow you to meet new hotties and to keep in touch with existing friends in fun ways.

How do I rate people?

In the Hotameter page, there are 10 stars shown for you, your friends or other hotties. If you think that someone is perfect, click on the star 10. If you think that someone's almost perfect, click on the star 9. You get the idea!

How do you get hotness score?

Whenever your friends visit your profile, they rate you on a 1-10 scale. You can also rate yourself (Note: A person can rate someone only once a day). Also, the more you use Hotameter, the more chances you have of getting your picture shown on every Hotameter user's "Random hotties" list. Then all those Hotameter user's will also rate you.

How can I increase my score?

There are many ways to increase your score:

• Ask your friends to vote for you - If you have 50 friends, then you can get a maximum of 500 points from them every day. What can be better than that? You can invite them to Hotameter, send them a gift, or rate them. When they see a comment saying that you rated them or had sent them a gift, they'll feel obliged to rate you too. ;-)
• Become a VIP - VIPs get shown to other users more frequently. So, you naturally get a lot more votes too. What better way to dramatically increase your score, eh?
• Carefully choose your picture - Make sure that your default picture is one of your best pictures and it shows you clearly. People like to vote for real people. In Hotameter, the pictures can have a maximum size of 440px X 440px. If you put a picture of that size (or smaller), then the browser won't squish your picture, so you'll look much better.
• Chat - Talk to people in the chatroom, rate them and let them know that you rated them. They will usually return the favor.
• Tips - Hotameter message bar shows tips. A lot of those tips tell you about many ways you can increase your score or ways you can have more fun with Hotameter. Keep checking them.
• Video - Do you have a video in which you look hot? Upload the video in YouTube and post the link in your "Settings". Videos get a lot better ratings than pictures.
• Other ways - Have you come up with an even better way to increase your score? Tell us about it, and if we like it, then we'll publish your techniques and you may get some bonus votes from us.

I am a "Peasant". What does that mean?

Based on your hotness rank in the world, you get a title. So, the top few hotties will be "Emperors or Empresses", new hotties who have a small score will be "Peasants". You get the idea, right?

I saw an inappropriate picture or a fake picture. How can I complain about it?

Below the picture, there is a link to complain about inappropriate pictures. Hotameter is used by millions of users from all kinds of backgrounds. And we very strongly believe that all such users should have clean fun with this application.

Why can't I visit the profile of a random hottie or send gift to a random hottie?

Only VIPs are allowed to send gifts / messages to random hotties or to visit their profiles.

Should I be concerned about my privacy?

Hotameter is approved by your favorite social networks (MySpace, Hi5, Friendster, Facebook, etc) after careful inspection. We use your information only for making Hotameter more useful for you. We use only the data that you have already made public on your profile, like your online name, your picture, your gender etc. And we work very hard to ensure that your data is safe. Why did you remove "Hotties of the Day"?

We want to be fair to all our users. But many users were just voting for Hotties of the Day, and were not voting for others. Now, hotties are shown randomly, and we think that this will make the system fairer to everyone.

What is that YouTube video thing?

In addition to posting a picture for others to rate, you can also post your video. We use YouTube for showing the videos. So, just upload your video in YouTube, and put the link in your "Settings". That's it!

What is this VIP thing? Where is my mooney?

We have simplified the mooney concept. Now, once you are a VIP, you can use all features of Hotameter for one full month. No more worrying about keeping mooney. If you had mooney, then the new Hotameter will give you equivalent VIP points. So, your mooney is not lost.
